"Mirror Image"…..

Titus 2:6-7 “Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. Show yourself in all respects to be a image of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity,”

Last week I had ALOT on my mind;therefore, I asked for prayer for the NATION. As the week ended I began to think “What kind of IMAGE do I REPRESENT??” I thought about my son turning 15 and how my life is RAPIDLY moving. I thought about feeling like it was just yesterday my husband & I were at the doctors office “IN SHOCK” looking at our NOW 2yr old twins on the sonogram. I thought, Monisha are you using EVERYDAY to be an example of God in you??

Are you using EVERY CHANCE you come across the LOST and YOUR brothers & sisters in Christ to let YOUR light shine THRU CHRIST is what I was asking myself. Take a MOMENT and ask YOURSELF are YOU showing Christ in YOUR DAILY life in ALL that you do/say/& YOUR REACTIONS/RESPONSE to the DAILY things/people that TAKE YOU THERE??? TRULY THINK ABOUT!!!!! A young man was killed last week(15yrs old) and he attended my church for THREE WEEKS and I BROKE MY BRAIN to remember what kind of IMAGE did I REPRESENT in front of him and I TRULY couldn’t REMEMBER and that SERIOUSLY bothered me. I was in CLEAR CONTACT to say something or DO SOMETHING that could have been SOME assistance for this young boy to go to ETERNITY and I CAN’T REMEMBER?!?!??? I’m not saying he didn’t go to heaven but what I’m saying is I can’t remember DOING MY PART!!! Phillipians 4:9 “What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” I prayed and prayed and asked God to USE ME and make me AWARE of EVERY opportunity to SHOW HIM thru ME EVERYDAY. Being a TRUE BELIEVER people are ALWAYS WATCHING ME. I work with a group of young ladies their ages range 19-21 and I’m ALWAYS encouraging/talking about the Lord with them;however, the SECOND that I’m NOT REPRESENTING God in my attitude or my emotions they are QUICK to let me know. Therefore, I took notice to it as well as others that do that SAME thing to me and I made the decision to WATCH MYSELF as I KNOW others are WATCHING. I realized I TRULY need to THINK before I speak or REACT because the IMAGE I NEED/WANT to show is God’s.

I KNOW I’m human BUT I REFUSE to use that as an EXCUSE not to FIX myself and my IMAGE DAILY. Today, I want to ENCOURAGE SOMEONE to stop making EXCUSES(I’m NOT perfect or I’m only HUMAN) and to ALLOW your IMAGE to be an EXAMPLE that TRULY represents “THE GOD IN YOU”. Stop ALLOWING the world the PLEASURE of CALLING US OUT. The absolute worst thing you can do is say one thing and do another. If you aren’t committed to applying Christian principles in your own life, you will not only be ineffective, but will be seen as insincere and fake. People aren’t as interested in what you say (though they PAY CLOSE ATTENTION), as they are in SEEING how it’s works in your DAILY walk. Why should God be in YOUR CORNER when YOU REFUSE to represent HIM?!?!?!???? Then WE wonder why WE KEEP GOING THRU the SAME OLE SAME OLE!!!!! STOP WONDERING & MAKE A CHANGE..DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT IN JESUS NAME THAT LAST LONGER THAN SUNDAY SERVICE.

Take the “CHALLENGE” TODAY….CHOOSE to walk UPRIGHT & SHOW YOURSELF/LIGHT to SHINE by the SECOND in EVERYTHING you DO/SAY/& REACT 2 in Jesus Name.

To remember our own beauty, we must look at our true Mirror, Jesus the Christ. Fully God and fully Human, we see in him our own beauty. Just as God became human, so the human must become like God. Jesus mirrors to us what we shall become. We are destined to a new beauty, sharing in the glorious life of the Father, what we see in Jesus is a pure and clear mirror of our selves- we will be raised to a new beauty for we shall be clothed with the glory and immortality of the Son. Remember this when you are confronted by people who seek to diminish your worth. Remember this truth when others treat you with disrespect. Remember this when people judge you to be of little worth or to be a nobody. Jesus our true Mirror reminds you that you are beautiful, you are of infinite worth to God…you are infinitely loved by God. Likewise, do not forget to treat your neighbor- even those you find difficult to love, those you find unattractive, those who are easy for us to ignore- do not forget to treat them with respect and love for they, too, are God’s beloved, and they too have the same infinite worth that God accords you, they too are beautiful, containing in themselves the seeds of divinity sown in them by the Father, through Christ in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

    I ditto Dad Hank!!! lol.
But really sis, the part about “being human isn’t an excuse to not step your game up” is perfect. We have to distance ourselves from the enemy’s tricks. He tells us that it’s ok to not change b/c “people can’t judge me” and yadayadayada. But God calls us to change. We have to daily take honest looks at ourselves and be real to give God our best.

  4. Mom Dukes says:

In my young adult life, before Christ, I was used and abused, filled with NO self-worth. It was not until years later, after being introduced to Jesus Christ and abandoning all I ever knew and understood to His calling on my life, did I realize how beautiful I am, in his image and likeness. Because of my painful past, I raised my daughters to love themselves, to not let anyone use and/or abuse them, to live their lives to the fullest. It’s wonderful and God-honoring to find that they have taken my advice to a new and better level, that of mirroring Christ in their daily lives. I know that I have not led a perfect life in Christ for the past 19 years, but I have tried to mirror Christ in my decisions, my everyday situations and handling my trials and tribulations. I’ll never really know if I’m making a difference, not on this side of Heaven, anyway. Yet that doesn’t matter, what matters is mirroring Christ in my life with the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit and the unconditional love of the Father fueling my desire to do so. As Pastor Stephen Joyce has said, we need to be Christ with skin on; for the lost and weary, so that to the best of our abilities and for the glory and honor of the Lord, none perish.
