You 2 Can Walk on Water…..FOCUS!!!!

Matthew 14:24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves.

I’m usually in class Wednesday evenings. However, because I’m on winter break, I was able to make Bible study. PRAISE GOD 4 that!! As I sat listening to our first lady(she’s going to get me b/c she corrects us when we sarcastically call her that by saying THE ONLY LADY^_^ & I LOVE IT). In her prayer she mentioned Peter walking on water and I was so focused and in prayer myself that I couldn’t remember word for word BUT I CLEARLY remember something about Peter walking on water in her prayer that STOOD OUT IN MY SPIRIT. So much that I came home and looked it up in my bible and I found it in Matthew 14:22. I began studying and praying and was in AWE at how these eleven verses were SO HUGE and though God placed something totally different on my heart to encourage everyone in my first blog of 2011, He CLEARLY placed this IN FRONT of that blog. SO, BLESSED NEW YEAR 2 ALL…..LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

As I SUNK deep in these verses, the first verse STOOD OUT; Matthew 14:24 “ The disciples were in trouble far away from land”. I’m sure some of us can relate to this situation because I SURELY can. Matthew 14:24 “a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves”. By the time I read thru this ONE SENTENCE, I said Lord “I hear You”. So, how many of US can say that in the year past “we were in trouble far away from land, & a STRONG WIND had risen, and WE were FIGHTING HEAVY WAVES”?!?! Are you WITH me?!? Ok, this is where I had to STOP reading and PRAY & GIVE GOD PRAISE for HIS TRUE & UNCHANGING WORD.

Verse 25 says “About three o’clock in the morning, Jesus came toward them”. I know I’m not the ONLY one that has been FIGHTING heavy waves from STRONG WINDS that were BLOWING ME and been up @ three o’clock in the morning and Jesus “CAME TOWARD THEM”. Ok, if I didn’t have your FULL attention I PRAY I DO NOW!!!! If not GO BACK and MEDITATE on the last couple of sentences. In verse 27, God REMINDS us to “Don’t be afraid” and to “Take courage” as He says to them @ three o’clock in the morning “I am HERE!” If God has been there for YOU in the middle of the night or morning STOP RIGHT NOW and give Him His DUE PRAISE!!! Then, as WE ALL have done at some point in our life in verse 28 Peter challenged God by saying to Him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come you to you, walking on water

When God came to SAVE THEM while they were in the MIDDLE of the sea “FAR FROM LAND” He didn’t catch a boat or helicopter like you may see in the movies, OH NO!!! MY GOD, YES MY GOD!!!! Walked on the water to go get HIS PEOPLE!!! Verse 29 says Jesus in JUST TWO WORDS said to Peter, “YES, come”. I could imagine Jesus so HUMBLE, that though Peter was DOUBTING Him He didn’t get OFFENDED and LASH OUT or HOLD A GRUDGE (IMAGE OF GOD is what we are called to be) Jesus SIMPLY said, “Yes, come” I LOVE IT!!!!!

Now, if you thought God was speaking to you, this is where I began to PRAISE MY GOD with tears of JOY!! Verse 29 explains how Peter began WALKING on the water toward Jesus TOTALLY FOCUSED ON HIM. However, when Peter took his eyes off Jesus to FOCUS on the STRONG WINDS that began to blow again Peter began to SINK. “Save me, Lord” Peter shouted. Ok, I have to STOP RIGHT HERE!!! So, THE WORD SAYS that as long as Peter was FOCUSED ON JESUS, he walked on WATER; HOWEVER, as SOON as Peter took his EYES OFF JESUS to focus on the STRONG WINDS that blew, he began to SINK. Does that sound FAMILIAR to ANYONE?!?!?? It SURELY SPOKE LOUDLY to ME!!!!

Then, did y’all see that AS SOON as Peter was SINKING he didn’t call out to his HOMEBOYS in the boat THE WORD SAYS “HE SHOUTED”, “SAVE ME LORD”. OK, does that @ LEAST sound FAMILIAR?!?

In CLOSING, verse 31 says Jesus IMMEDIATELY REACHED OUT AND GRABBED HIM and said “You have so LITTLE FAITH” “WHY DID YOU DOUBT ME”. This is the KICKER verse 32 says “When they climbed into the boat the wind STOPPED”. Yes, when they climbed in with JESUS the WIND STOPPED BLOWING. Today, I want to ENCOURAGE someone to know that to do the SUPERNATURAL like “WALKING ON WATER” you MUST be TOTALLY FOCUSED on God (not looking to the left or the right EVER). Also, KNOW that God is ALWAYS watching and though it may seem like you’re FAR FROM LAND, God is there so be IN HIS WILL so that He can do those three o’clock in the morning visits when you need Him the MOST.

Again, I’m not doing Happy New Year.; However, BLESSED NEW YEAR is what I want for ALL OF YOU!!! Please take this to HEART because THE WORD SAID IT….NOT ME!!! ENOUGH SAID……………….

Be Bold

Be In His Will

Be Walking on Water in Jesus Name

Be Focused 2011 Let’s GOOOOOOOOOOO………….

This too has touched my heart and spirit! Its refreshing to
read this today especially seeing how as soon as I began to pray
and believe in God’s will and praise him for his mercy, my
situation drastically changed for the better after almost a year a
struggle, my beliefs in HIM was tested and I fought with myself
often about it but I continued calling on Jesus name and praying!
So in saying that I too will use this theme as my motivation to
stay focus on Christ so thAT I will not sink and continue to walk
on water until that day when I finally reach that boat with Jesus
and the strong winds are over!

Beautiful Mdot!!! Absolutely beautiful. This blog speaks to me in ways unimaginable, but especially verses 25-27; just thinking about how many times I am up toiling about this or that in the middle of the night. God is all knowing and keeps reminding me to trust Him above all things. Why do I fear? I love your post hunnie bunnie. You have blessed me today.

  5. HANK LLOYD says:

WE must truthed in God at all times, he will keep you safe from the worlds wicked ways, know one can do what God can do his power is from high, Notice that although they had gone about three and a half miles, once Jesus came into the ship the ship immediately arrived at the land where they were going. This too is a remarkable miracle. Who can move a ship instantly to its destination? Only God has this sort of power.
What mere prophet ever did a miracle like that? We can compare walking on water with dividing the water and walking through on dry ground, but to what will we compare this transportation of the ship? Jonah fled from the face of God in a boat, but on his account God kept the boat in the midst of the tempest despite the efforts of the sailors (Jonah 1:13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.).
The Apostle himself was only able to his fellow travelers that none of the people on the ship would die, although the ship they were traveling on would be destroyed (Acts 27:22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.)
Jesus was greater than the greatest apostles and prophets, for he could walk on water and could instantly transport a ship to its destination. No mere man has these abilities, but only God. God alone spreads out the heavens, and treads upon the waves of the sea.

Praise be to the Great God and our Lord Jesus Christ! Love Dad
