Ok, so I’m back at it again…
As promised, this month will be the count down extravaganza with April Christina!!!! So for today, I have compiled what I think are the top 5 ways that you can make God smile and ultimately win that “Well Done” that we so badly want to hear.
Here it is, Leyygo:
Top 5 Ways to Please God (Please note I did not rank these in order of importance, as I think they are all equally significant)
5. Give Yourself Away
I often hear non-believers use strife in the world as an excuse to bash God, claiming “if there was a God, why are there so many homeless people on the streets?” My response to that is always the same: God created US to take care of each other. The question is not “why the problems”, but rather “who are the solutions”. One of the ways that we can please God is to give ourselves back to Him, so that He can use us as solutions to the ills of the world and so that others can ultimately see GOD in US. Giving yourself away means so many things, but to please HIM you must 1. submit to His ways and deny yourself the carnal pleasures of this world, and 2. give of yourself (time, money, material gains, etc.) as God wishes. See Luke 14:25-34.
4. Talk to Him
I have said this before in other pieces that I have written, but I MUST reiterate the fact that God literally cannot wait to wake us up in the morning so that He can hear our voice. He LOVES when we talk to Him, after all He is a jealous God. He just wants to be our Father in every sense of the word. James tells us in 5:16 that “the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective“. God is listening and He wants you to talk to Him…so do it.
3. Trust in Him
One of the best ways to show your honest faith is by placing COMPLETE and TOTAL trust in God. God knows that we by nature are inquisitive, wanting to know the answers to E VER Y THING. He expects however that we will put our curiosity to the side and simply trust that the decisions He makes for us are PERFECT and TIMELY in every way. He asks that we TRUST in Him “with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”. Wisdom is knowing that you KNOW NOT, and that GOD will always be supreme. We will never understand the vastness of God’s Being and should therefore be content in what HE DOES allow us to know. Even still, I will continue to seek Him beyond the veil…
2. Spread the Good News
God will be sure to lift you up whenever you allow the Holy Spirit to speak through you and spread the Gospel of Christ. There is no greater feeling than knowing you may have helped bring a soul to Christ! Luke chapter 15 tells us that “there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away”. I know for me, this is probably the area that I struggle with the most. Not because I don’t know how to witness, but because I am often too shy. This will be something I work on throughout the year… just to make God SMILE!
1. Love God with ALL YOUR HEART
The greatest commandment according to Jesus is simple:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” (Matthew 22)
GIVE YOUR HEART TO GOD! Fall in love with Him! Live and Breathe Him! We were created to Worship and Praise… how hard is that? Honestly?
