Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell

For a long time in our nation’s history, we promoted an idea of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” which basically stipulated that Gay’s and Lesbian’s in the military conceal their sexual identities, by NOT TELLING anyone, and forbidding Military leaders from ASKING. Just recently, however, this legal statute has been in the news, as citizens push to repeal.

To avoid stating a position on this statute, I will get straight to the heart of my blog, but even in my avoidance am I practicing what I’m preaching about in today’s message?

My message is this:

It seems we live by that attitude of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” these days, where basic tenets of Christianity are being hidden by those who LIVE IT each day. We hide our testimonies for fear that we will be judged. We hide our beliefs and stance on BIG issues (such as homosexuality, abortion rights, etc.) that seem too taboo to speak about, because we are afraid of offending others. We hide the Gospel of Christ and our witness because we are too afraid of being shut down. If we are not asked, we are certainly NOT telling. This, ladies and gentleman is PERPLEXING.

How in the world can we carry the last name of Christ, but we DO NOT follow His lead in ministry? Christ didn’t have to wait for someone to ask Him about salvation, HE simply TOLD them forthrightly, without any hesitation.

The Bible is pretty straight forward when it comes to this topic, as we were created to PRAISE GOD, and SPREAD THE GOSPEL. One of my favorite verses that I have written about before is Romans 1:16 which says “l not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.”

There are COUNTLESS verses on this, in which I have included a link for you to read through some! Click Here for the reading!

Nonetheless, my whole point is that we have become so conditioned to HIDE ourselves, when really we have to be the opposite. Transparency is a hard way to live, but absolutely necessary in the BOC (thats Body of Christ for all the Super saved lol).

After all, someones life depends on it.

SIdenote: I hope to see EVERYONE at Saturday’s B&F Celebration! A BIG THANK YOU to  everyone one who reads and supports. I love you guys from the bottom of my heart!!

Be BOLD, FAB, and BLESSED,

This is SIMPLY amazing….and so true! It is amazing how many groups in our society fight to be heard…and it appears that we, as Christians, run away from so many battles. I really enjoyed this April!
