2 years TOO Short…….

John 9:4 “We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.”

plan

Some of you may know my 18yr old has been on a MISSION to become a Fire Fighter for the past 2 years and I must say I’m extremely proud of his determination/focus through this extra long process. A couple of years ago he expressed his interest in the DCFD cadet program and he shared that ONE of the MANY requirements was that he maintain a specific GPA his senior year of high school. Brian hasn’t ALWAYS been the best student in his class; however, he has been the BEST student he could be regarding his grades (throughout high school).

grade

Brian began the application process for the DCFD cadet program at the top of his senior year, in which he recently graduated with honors and was awaiting word on the next phase regarding his application. July approaches and no word from the cadet program so we began to get concerned (Did they receive the app? Was he accepted? SOMETHING??) so we reached out to see what was the hold up. After many phone calls we were informed that Brian was on a “waiting list” sooooooooo…..he successfully adhered to ALL the requirements and WHY ISN’T HE IN THE PROGRAM AGAIN??

need

We were informed that though Brian graduated with HONORS (Honor Roll) his SENIOR YEAR (The REQUIREMENT) there were 150 other students that ALSO GRADUATED WITH HONORS. This year (1st year they had to do this) due to the HIGH VOLUME of applicants that MET ALL THE REQUIREMENTS their “Senior year” they had to refer to the ACCUMULATED GPA for the ENTIRE 4 YEARS of high school to narrow the numbers down to 100 students (The amount of students that can be accepted into the process). Therefore, the REMAINING 50 were placed on a waiting list and will be placed in as the selected group of 100 narrowed out (after MANY test they are required to pass upon entering the process). Brian was disappointed but he understood that there were others students that prepared in ADVANCE their grades for this program TWO YEARS before he even knew about what he wanted to do with his career. Brian understood that because he SLACKED in the early years of high school this was a consequence of the lack of focus (The waiting process CONTINUES for the DCFD cadet program) YIPEEE LOL.

bright

Though Brian was 2 years TOO SLOW…..He PLANNED AHEAD taking an opportunity that presented itself while he patiently waited for the word from DCFD cadet program. In his waiting Brian pressed forward taking and successfully passing the entry exam for the VAFD………BUT GOD MY GOD HALLELUJAH!!!!! He’ll be taking the physical portion of the exam in the next 4 weeks and he’s PREPARING his body IN ADVANCE for the course. Though Brian didn’t have the mind process 2 yrs ago to PLAN AHEAD GROWTH/MATURITY LEVEL allowed him NOW to UNDERSTAND that an ADVANCE PLAN/ DETERMINATION/GOD LEADING IT ALL has the BEST possibility to an amazing outcome.

Today be ENCOURAGED to know that you can be 2 yrs TOO SLOW and STILL…..FINISH the COURSE THRU PLANNING/GROWTH/DETERMINATION & GOD HOLDING YOUR HAND THE ENTIRE RACE. Though Brian hasn’t MADE IT he is DETERMINED to take EVERY AVENUE to make an EFFORT in SUCCEEDING to HIS GOAL…..

I pray YOU……YES YOU WILL BE ENCOURAGED TO DO THE SAME!

    Hello My Grandson,

1 Corinthians 2:9 – Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him

Today’s verse is really an encouragement for all of us to raise our level of expectancy! It’s like God is saying to us, “You think you’re blessed? You haven’t seen anything yet!” And I’m sure God has been good to you, but He also has things for your future that, if He told you right now, would boggle your mind. You wouldn’t even believe it.

I believe today is a time of great harvest for many people. Maybe you’ve been facing some difficulties. Remember, great difficulties lead to great victories. Maybe you’ve felt like the storms of life have been blowing against you, trying to hold you back. I believe that the winds are changing direction, and now they are going to start propelling you forward. Due season is coming. It’s not time to sit back. It’s not time to let up. It’s time to press forward. It’s time to rise up! Don’t grow weary while doing good. Keep doing good and don’t lose heart because it’s your time, and it’s your season!

Today, get ready for increase. Get prepared for promotion. This year is the year to step into blessings you can’t even imagine. Keep believing, keep obeying His Word and keep your heart and mind open to what He has for you because you haven’t seen anything yet!

Prayer for Today: Father God, today I raise my level of expectancy. I choose to take the limits off of my thinking. I know that You are able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all I could ever ask, think or imagine. Thank You for the blessing You have in store for me! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

    Have a blessed day!
    Love Always “POPS”

There is a mighty POWERFUL word, lesson, and encouragement in this blog that I can’t even explain to you. You told me about this the other day, BUT the aspect of having not prepared IN ADVANCE BUT not letting it deter you b/c it’s technically better late than never to be what you should be…regardless, is ministering to me right now. As I’m working on a few things in my own life that I felt I “SHOULD’VE” started years ago & letting that slow me down…This is something I actually needed right now & I didn’t even realize it. Praise God my sister.
