Today I woke up and started my day with an excerpt from Joyce Meyer’s “Starting Your Day Right.” The book was a gift from my Aunt Robyn for my birthday and it is simply amazing how timely the messages have been. Today was no exception. It was so on point, I have to share it in its entirety.
DON’T GET RATTLED
“Just think of Him Who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself {reckon up and consider it all in comparison with your trials}, so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds. “~ Hebrews 12:3
WOW… let’s just say last night I was weary, exhausted, and fainting. Not in the physical sense as I just returned from a fabulous vacation that was full of relaxation and fun. My exhaustion was mental. There’s something about coming back from a dreamy vacation and being hit with everyday real life. I was so overwhelmed. It just felt like the world was against me. I couldn’t keep up with the mountain of “to-dos” on the To Do List. Nothing seemed to go in my favor. Last night, I went to bed confessing that tomorrow would be better… and it was!
It started with my confession last night, followed by the loving words of encouragement from my Father this morning, and the will to take control of my own happiness.
Joyce Meyer’s puts it best… just say, “Forget it, devil! I am not staying hurt, bitter, wounded, or angry. My trust is in God. I am a Christian — watch me be happy.”
